Ted Forbes is the founder of Divitius Partners, LLC. As a solo practitioner, his work focuses on executive coaching, helping the leadership teams of high-growth companies evolve effectively for scale, and finding and developing business-oriented HR leaders who can drive bottom-line impact. Ted started Divitius in 2016 after a successful career as a leader and executive in both the corporate and not-for-profit worlds.
Ted’s most recent full-time leadership position was serving as the first head of People Operations for Cotopaxi, an industry-leading, mission-driven, private equity-backed “B” corporation focused on Doing Good and alleviating poverty. Prior to Cotopaxi, Ted was Executive Vice President for People at Backcountry, LLC. Before Backcountry, Ted was Managing Director, Talent Management at United Airlines, where he oversaw the company’s talent work during the merger with Continental Airlines. Before United, Ted was CEO and President of the Darden School Foundation at the University of Virginia, and prior to that, he was the Chief Learning Officer at Capital One.
Ted earned a B.A. in Classics from Guilford College, and an MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia.
Ted’s personal passions are centered on the outdoors; he’s led eight-week canoe expeditions to the shores of Hudson’s Bay in Canada, spent four years as a co-founder of Wilderness Medical Associates, and worked as a volunteer ski patroller for 20 years. Ted and his partner Deborah, along with their two big dogs Jerry and Willie, split their time between summers on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state, and winters in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah, and he spends as much time with his four adult children as possible.
